Breaking: Ibadan Newest Indigenous Radio Station, Lagelu 96.3FM To Hit Airwaves In October

The clock is ticking as Lagelu 96.3FM, the first original indigenous radio station in Ibadan, is set to begin transmission!

A station conceived and strategically positioned to finally fill the vacuum of real indigenous broadcasting in Oyo state.

The patriarch of the Ibadan media terrain: High Chief Adebayo Akande once again is ready to bless his beloved Ibadan with a first class 21st century listener friendly indigenous radio station Ibadan ki ni soo?

According to reports we exclusively gathered, this new project had been on the move quietly, while the management recruited the best voices across the nation.

We also scooped that world renowned media consultants spent weeks designing programmes that will meet the need of this time.

Even though, the top management of Lagelu 96.3FM chose to keep things under wraps. The truth is, there is no hiding place for the golden fish.

No wonder other stations, already caught in the Lagelu fever, inadvertently heralded it`s coming.

Lagelu 96.3FM in no time will unleash some of the best OAPS across the country including Ibadan, to the delight of the people who now eagerly await the real ‘Oga at the top’.

Already, #Lagelu 96.3 FM is trending beyond belief across various social media platform within and outside Oyo state.

While the management is trying not to divulge too much info, our understanding is that, the content will be significantly different from the norm in Ibadan or anywhere·

The OAPS recruited are putting final touches to their programmes. Expectedly, Lagelu 96.3 FM will broadcast both in Yoruba and pidgin.

Fingers crossed, this one is about to be a clear departure from the rest. Connect Lagelu 96.3FM on social media, Twitter @lagelufm963,  Instagram – lagelufm963, Facebook – Lagelu Fm 96.3

After having successful hosted a couple of editions in Ibadan, Abuja and Kaduna, the much-talked about Nigerian Broadcasters’ Nite (NBN) is back in Lagos.

It would be recalled that the ‘train’ of the monthly event solely designed to further celebrate broadcasters, On-Air Personalities, TV and Radio stations, left Lagos in 2013 for Ibadan, Abuja and Kaduna in 2014.
However, come Saturday May 30th, 2015, it will be the turn of Rhythm 93.7 FM’s DJ Humility and  Brila FM’s ace presenters,Ogechukwukanma Ogwo and Murphy Ijemba, to be celebrated at the Nigerian Broadcasters’ Nite, holding at  the new Vapours Nite Club; the celebrity hangout, situated at 879,Samuel Manuwa street, Victoria Island, Lagos.

It may interest you to know that the dynamic duo of Ogechukwukanma Ogwo and Murphy Ijemba emerged Most Popular Radio Sportscasters at the prestigious Nigerian Broadcasters Merit Awards (NBMA) that was held in 2012 and 2013 respectively, while DJ Humility of Rhythm 93.7FM, was crowned ‘Best In-House DJ’ in Nigeria during the 2011 maiden edition.
It’s no doubt that DJ Humility, Ogey and Murphy are currently on top of their games.

Ogechukwukanma Ogwo has nothing to prove to anyone as far as secular and sports’ broadcasting is concerned, having been on top of it for more than 12 years. Enchanting natural characteristics such as great voice and playful personality coupled with her mastery of sports issues and penchant for meaningful analysis, she is no doubt a great sports presenter.

She started off with ‘Straight from the Heart’ on RayPower FM in April 2002 and then became a presenter anchoring the ‘Top 10 Countdown Show’ and ‘Rock Radio’. In August, 2003, she auditioned for, and got a job with Brila 98.9 FM.

Ogey as she’s fondly called,  rose to the ranks of starting off hosting ‘Whistles Of The Night’‘The Afternoon Blazing Drive’‘Top 8 Countdown’‘The Sunday Morning Show’ and ‘The Super Morning show’. For DJ Humility, the turntable majesty-born, Benedict Afagwu hugged the spotlight when he won the Benson & Hedges DJ Championship in the early 2000.  Since then, Rhythm FM’s famous in-house DJ has maintained a steady rise and rise in fame and fortune. DJ Humility has not only performed in some of the biggest shows held both at home and abroad, he has successfully staged personal shows i.e. the yearly DJ Classics. He has rocked clubs, parties and some of his singles has earned him more respect in the music scene.

On his part, Murphy Ijemba does not live in anybody’s world; he creates his own- mannerisms, attitude, beliefs, dress sense and the man who calls himself Radio Paparazzi does not conform to the norms. Creative and expressive, Murphy’s outlandish characteristics are visible in his presentations on radio, applied so positively listeners that can’t help craving for more.
Murphy’s style on radio can be described as a combination of passion and energy which produces a sporting orgasm.

Now that the stage is set, there is no doubt as to what to expect when these amazing OAPs emerge for the Night. Aside DJ Humility’s special performance for the night, DJ Obi and DJ Debby will raise the roof with their scintillating mixes on turntable.

THE OBJECT OF MY WORSHIP- Charly Boy Opens Up

No, I no dey suck human blood, I no be general overseer for illuminati, I no dey Ogboni or for cult, e don doooooooo. You People no go kill me with laugh for Naija. The way eyes dey red now, you go think say Apollo catch dem.  Many guys dey write me say dem wan join illuminati, Cheai, there is Godoooo.
I dey sure say the church buildings wey dey Nigeria pass our population. So called men of god  wey dey town don dey assume the proportion of China. All looking for their next Mugu. Una no see me joor.

I have been queried a lot about my faith these days. Do I believe in God? Do I believe in Jesus? Do I pray and to who or what? I guess for many, they probably cannot wrap their minds around my spirituality. Am sure some people even think say I be native doctor as na only me dey take siesta inside coffin when I never die. No vex, na my life and I dey rock-am anyhow, no homo. Some people dey form good Christians because dem wan go heaven, me I just dey denge dey pose because am living my own small heaven right here on this earth for this Nigeria. I no wan wait till I die. Even some of my Muslim brothers wey wan fast track dem own dey even do suicide  bombing. Na only Naija Christains wey dey fear death yet dem all wan go heaven. Haba.

Most  Nigerians who have heavily invested in their Christianity believe that the concept of any other faith should be considered false. So how do I start to speak to narrow-minded Christians to understand that Buddhism is a wholesome practice for everyone, even the Christians themselves?
Take some time out and research, go to google, you will for sure see so many books on the topic, where Buddhism and Christianity agree in philosophy; in fact, with some of the key factors of most world religions. Also, the best of the Bible and Buddhism both converge on the areas of ethics, kindness, giving, and love.
Too many practitioners of all faiths focus on the rewards at the end of our journey, when the rewards and purpose are the journey itself according to the teaching of Buddha.

While I may not be a religious person, I believe in Jesus/Christianity, I do not deny it.  While I do not believe in the afterlife as Christians do, if those who follow it embody the qualities of Jesus in the here and now, then I embrace their practice as successful and good. While Buddhism is a faith of self-realization in the practice of here and now. Christianity is a practice for the afterlife of God’s revelation.

No matter how my Naija Christian brothers dey see God, my own way different. I see our Creator as one that does not interfere with the world in which we live, but only touches the heart of man to let him know He (God) is there. It is up to man to make his volitional choices using his free will, and making his own happiness.
The story of Job tells of the story of a faithful man who is beset by all sorts of misfortune, but he “chooses” to keep his faith. While Jesus performed miracles and taught His Gospel, He always presented His parables as tools/models for His followers to make their own choices towards happiness.

Buddha does the same as Jesus, but without the need to exclude the idea of other faiths. The Buddha said for us to always question, practice and see the truth by the fruits of our efforts. If a Christian can grow and develop his faith by adding the tools of the Buddha, then I see it as a damn good thing. I don find my direction to heaven, make you find ya own abegi
