Ini Edo’s new look trips fans

It was quite interesting when the inauguration of the sexy screen diva, Ini Edo, as the United Nations Habitat Youth Envoy, became something for the pages of newspapers and magazines.
Though, the sassy star actress has also been trying to keep her fine face in the consciousness of her numerous fans with a couple of appearances in  some recently  released movies, especially her own Memories Of My Heart, she has got many people talking of her new look.
Not that Edo used to possess an intimidating frame; she was back then only fleshy to compliment her sexy curves.
Moreover, with Ini’s latest hot shots, the controversial actress, who has debunked the alleged romance between her and embattled former House of Representatives Speaker, Dimeji Bankole, have succeeded in leaving funny thoughts running through the minds of her secret admirers.
While Ini’s decision to give up few flesh for a firmer frame has become a talking point in the entertainment scene, the gifted actress seems unperturbed, as she is said to have finished shooting another movie titled, I Will Take My Chances.
The movie ,which premiere is being scheduled for September has the likes of, Bryan Okwarra, former Mr. Nigeria, a Canadian actress, Ashleigh Clark, Sam Loco Efe among many others.

Street Warrior: Rise, fall and rise of Charly Boy

Ever since the Ope Banwo-led executive management of Stingomania Entertainment dropped the hint of taking Charly Boy’s private part to the public, that is, shoot a biopic of the maverick entertainer, many people have been wondering if Charly Boy’s life is worth adapting into a movie.
Those who are privy to the rise, fall and rise of the famous area fada, would definitely commend such moves which may also probably be condemned by some who had fallen for his many amazing publicity stunts. Summing these up, it is unarguable that Street Warrior, the movie about the self styled Grand Commander of Peoples’ Army will be a block buster when it’s finally shot!
While it is no longer news that Ope Banwo and Charly Boy have put pen on paper for the flick that will be shot in Nigeria and the United States (US), it may interest you to know that the research on the past of Charly Boy, which is still in progress, has opened up a lot about the complex growing up of that son of a respectable judge, his grace to grass and how tenacity, doggedness and consistency of the brand, Charly Boy, have catapulted him back to grace.
Most people have ascribed Charly Boy’s recent incessant trips to Europe and the US to be part of the preparation towards the shooting of the movie; but in a telephone interview the Area Fada, spoke only on the importance of the venture and why he accepted to sign the deal.
“I believe I have a story to tell.  The story of my life is like the story of an average Nigerian child trying to find a place in the system. The doggedness, tenacity and tremendous focus that formed part of my life through the different phases will be something big and huge for the Nigerian youth as lessons. I want to evoke the zeal in them and challenge the confidence in them,” he said.
Entervganza learnt that the biopic, which would be a trilogy, would tell the story of the enigmatic social crusader in exactitude. Moreover, the very sensitive sides of the story that is expected to capture Charly Boy as a child, his youth, academic years in the country and in the US as well as the emergence of the brand, will be comically presented.
Banwo who opened up during one of his research missions to the Punk Palace in Abuja disclosed that the movie would take Nollywood to a different level added that cast would not be limited to Nollywood’s famous faces but would also feature some international stars.

Rape allegation: Lil’ Jojo humbles Yem-kem’s wife

Joining few of the Nigerian music stars seeking shelters in Abuja is Jonathan Cyril the pint-sized aspiring rap music star popularly known as Lil’ Jojo.  His encounter with the wife of Dr. Adekunle Ayeni, the CEO of the popular trado-medical outfit called Yem-Kem, is something the struggling rap act will never forget in hurry.
Before Lil’ Jojo relocates to Abuja for survival, the chubby-cheeked Mrs. Ayeni was gathered to have ordered for his arrest for rape attempt on her house girl.
SS reliably gathered that like every other fans, who always throng Lil’ Jojo’s former abode in Idimu, Lagos, just to say hello to the small frame rap music sensation anytime he show his face outside his compound. Things took a dramatic turn when the star struck 20 years old house girl of Mrs Ayeni was given a cold shoulder.
Confirming the story, which has not stopped to amaze residents of Adebola Street, Idimu, Lagos State, Lil’ Jojo said, “On that particular night, she wanted to play with me but I was not in the mood. I tried to warn her but she would not listen, she hit me and run. I was not in the mood for that kind of joke, so when she was coming back, I picked up a stone and thrown it at her. She went into their house and Yem-kem’s wife came out and started yelling that she is going to charge me and my homeboy, ‘Monk’, for rape.
My big brother, Mr. Osaro came down but the women do not want to listen to anybody simply because she is Yem-Kem’s wife. She invited the police the following night by 10pm and they were knocking the door but we refused to open the door at that kind hour of the night.
The police came back again the following morning and I was taken to the station, where I was questioned and detained for some hours. Interestingly, after both sides explained, they were now charged us for rape. They said, Monk and I tried to pull down her skirt, a house help, why? It‘s ridiculous. Funny enough, The D.P.O requested for Mrs. Ayeni’s presence but she never show up.”
While Yem-Kem Boss has kept mute on the issue and refused to show up at the police station when the case lasted, close allies of the young rapper have been crying injustice.

At last! D’banj denies Genevieve

The romance tale between the multiple award winning music star, D’banj and sexy screen goddess, Genevieve, is no longer news. Although, most of the fans of the two showbiz icons fell for the scoop when it hit the town early last year, Genevieve’s alleged lamentation that D’banj is not her kind of man gave the rumour another face.
Moreover, as some people doubt the possibility of D’banj and Genevieve hitting off romance. The presence of the two at P-Square birthday bash sometimes ago and D’banj’s appearance at Genevieve’s 32 years birthday in U.K got many people confused the more. It was even reported that Genevieve was pregnant.
Interestingly, while those in the know still believe that there was no love lost between D’banj and Gene, the latter at long last confirmed that they are just close friends. D’Banj was recently in Malaysia for a musical concert and during one of the interviews, he was alleged to have said, “Genevieve is my very good friend, I don’t know where these rumours are coming from. But I cannot complain because Genevieve is beautiful.” End of discussion you’d say?

Death rocks Continental Broadcasting Station

Late Adebukola
Death is inevitable and it is a wages of sin as they say. Interestingly, when death strikes incessantly, it left many people with the notion that probably something is wrong somewhere. This best explains the current situation at Ikosi in Ketu, Lagos based Continental Broadcasting Station, owners of Radio and TV continental, where death is scoop to have dealt the stations blows severally.
While family, friends and colleagues are still mourning the sudden demise of Adebukola Ore, the newscasters on business desk of CBS, AWL reliably gathered that the Adebukola’s death will be the third in space of three months, and three staff were alleged to have died at the tail end of last year.
“Yes people dies and so what? I don’t know why people make issues out of nothing, ours is not exceptional, lots of speculations rented the air when MITV and AIT faced the same challenges of continuous deaths and inferno,” said an inside source who pled anonymity.
Moreover, as AWL learnt that staff of the two sister stations are turning in their resignation letters en masse, many people blame deaths in the media on stress and nonchalant attitude to regular medical check-up.
While AWL continues its investigation on other matters facing Radio and TV continental, may the soul of departed ones continue to rest in peace.
