Brilla 88.9, Eko 89.75, Top 90.9, Bond92.9  , Gateway90.5 , Inspiration92.3, Rhythm 93.7, Rainbow94.1 , Wazobia 95.1 and Cool 96.9 made the first list of the foremost FM Radio stations that are burning the airwaves in Lagos and its environ. Here are other frequencies and names on the list of most listened to FM stations in Lagos.

CLASSIC 97 .3 FM—The idea of taking Radio listeners back to the days when men were boys was what gave the keffi street in Ikoyi on Lagos Island based station the instant recognition when it berthed on air a couple of years ago.  Today Classic FM remains the companion of lovers of old classic hits.

METRO 97.7 FM-- Though not a darling to some of the youths with great knack for entertainment, Metro FM’s solid grip on grassroots oriented programmes is the reason it cannot be ignored among the hot Radio stations in Lagos. Aside its frequent links with sister station network, Radio Nigeria. Metro FM gained the popularity with Sport Summit, the sport programme, which is been handled by the duo of Godwin Enakhena and Charles Anazodo.

SMOOTH 98.1 FM—True to its name, Smooth 98.1, the Victoria Island based new radio station, has been dazzling lovers of smooth and cool music like jazz, soul, old and comtempory R’n’ B. Smooth FM’s recent appointment of Femi Sowoolu as General manager and the breakfast show with Mandy and Sadiq have multiplied the fan base of the station.

BEAT 99.9 FM— It is unarguable that Beat FM rocks at the moment. Aside incorporating broadcasting styles of both Cool and Rhythm FMs, great voices like Olisa Adibua, Gbemi Olateru- Olagbegi, Ureka, Tolu Oniru a.k.a Toolz among others on the frequency, is enough reason why most people now kept thier dial locked on 99.9 FM, Classic FM’s sister station.

RAYPOWER 100.5 FM- It’s been claimed as the first independent FM Radio station in Nigeria. Raypower 100.5 FM’s ability to retain the likes of The parliamentarian,  Fact file, Peak soccer moment, Straight from the heart', Prime time Africa among other popular programmes, best explain the rationale behind Raymond Dokpes’s radio station continuous grip on its groove.


STAR 101.5 FM—Apart from be known for its preference of Naija music to foreign, over the time, the presentation styles of the likes of  Mofe, Moyo, Teddy among other regular voices have garnered Alhaji Muritala Gbadeyanka’s radio station huge listenership.

RADIO CONTINENTAL 102.3 FM— It is one of the fastest grown private radio stations in Lagos.  This is not unconnected to Radio Continental’s richness in content coupled with growing popularity of ‘wetin dey', the hilarious programme been presented by Wale pawpaw, General Dan Baba, Iya jogbo and Tataafo, among other programmes. Former Governor, Tinubu has been alleged as the owner of the Ikosi in Ketu based FM station.

NAIJA FM 102.7 FM-- Under the same management that runs both Classic and Beat FMs,Naija …FMis the second indigenous station in Nigeria after Wazobia FM. It boasts of sweet voices like Godwin Aruwayo, Sebina, Ifektive baba, Sam Mbonu a.k.a the original Naija boy, and many other gifted presenters, who have launched the new FM radio station on the fastest lane to fame.

UNILAG 103.1 FM-- This is surely the first campus radio station in Nigeria. It is an academic station under the management of Mass Communication department of University of Lagos. Though, it signal strength is not too strong, it is very popular among the undergraduates.

CHOICE 103.5 FM-- Located on Fajuyi way, Ikeja, this station with growing fan base’s signal always overrides that of Unilag FM. This is because of their closeness in frequency. While Unilag maintain on 103.1, Choice, the FRCN’s sister station, is live on 103.5FM.


CITY FM-- For the ardent listeners of Cruise Control on Metro FM, Karmal was a darling. And the moment the presenter of ‘Don’t forget your lyrics, moves to City FM on Oregun in Ikeja, he surely moved his fans. Moreover, the duo of Tunde Bada and Biola Kazeem has been taking care of sport matters. These combinations have facilitated the steady growth of City FM in Lagos city.


RADIO LAGOS—the popular Radio Lagosi, tiwa n tiwa mititi, is a darling and pride of the Yoruba race. The last on the radio dial for now, though, known for its presentation in Yoruba language, fusion of little English language confirmed the uniqueness of Lagos State owned FM station. It parades the likes of Adebisi Adewusi, Anike Salako, Tunmise Kuku among others, who speak Yoruba Language as if they were born with it. Radio Lagos also has popular programmes like Fyne Mulato, Lagbo video, Kasunlayo ti ojo isinmi and others.
