ANTP Crisis Latest: Cout restraints Ashaolu

If the scoop within the reach of SS were anything to go by, then the crisis rocking Association of Nigerian Theatre Arts Practitioners (ANTP), the umbrella body of the Yoruba genre of Nigerian movie industry, is far from being over.
While knocks and kudos continue to trail the alleged threat to life by the factional head of the union, Comrade Victor Ashaolu, the other faction led by the outgoing president, Prince Jide Kosoko, is said to be in a celebration mood. Reason: the court has restrained Ashaolu from parading himself as the association's National President until otherwise decided.

A reliable source hinted  that during the last hearing of the case (another is due for August 3, 2011), at Court Six in Iyaganku, Ibadan, Oyo State the judge blamed the lawyers representing Ashaolu for fuelling the crisis and also told him to stop parading himself as the President since the matter is still pending in court. It would be recalled that the battle between Ashaolu and Dele Odule, for the seat of Prince Jide Kosoko, whose tenure ended last year, led the association into another war. More over ever since the election that was held in Ibadan early last year ended in serious fracas, the decision of some of the elders to conduct a controversial election that produced Asaoul, had since divided the union.
