Quite an interesting development it was a couple of months ago when CEO of Stingomania Records, Ope Banwo uncovered his plans to shoot a biopic of the maverick entertainer, Charly Boy.
An MOU for the production of Street Warrior, the movie about the self styled Grand Commander of Peoples’ Army, was even reported to have been signed Unfortunately, the once solid working relationship on the proposed multimillion naira project, that has given Ope Banwo access to Charly Boy’s private life, has crashed and this is authoritative.
Although, the real reason why Ope’s findings on CB for Street Warrior may eventually end up in the trash can, is still a puzzle waiting to unravel, a bird in the know squealed that there is an unresolved issue on the budget, which led to the controversy that eventually terminated the once sweet partnership. SS gathered further that although, there is no bad blood as the separation is concerned, the decision of the two to disengage is not unconnected with the fact that they have been unable to fully synchronise their ideas.
Charly Boy, who has been selected as the resident judge of the Season 2 of Nigerian Idol, is putting finishing touches on his new book and talking with a Hollywood movie producer with intention of casting some of the big names of Hollywood for the Street Warrior.
