Street Warrior: Rise, fall and rise of Charly Boy

Ever since the Ope Banwo-led executive management of Stingomania Entertainment dropped the hint of taking Charly Boy’s private part to the public, that is, shoot a biopic of the maverick entertainer, many people have been wondering if Charly Boy’s life is worth adapting into a movie.
Those who are privy to the rise, fall and rise of the famous area fada, would definitely commend such moves which may also probably be condemned by some who had fallen for his many amazing publicity stunts. Summing these up, it is unarguable that Street Warrior, the movie about the self styled Grand Commander of Peoples’ Army will be a block buster when it’s finally shot!
While it is no longer news that Ope Banwo and Charly Boy have put pen on paper for the flick that will be shot in Nigeria and the United States (US), it may interest you to know that the research on the past of Charly Boy, which is still in progress, has opened up a lot about the complex growing up of that son of a respectable judge, his grace to grass and how tenacity, doggedness and consistency of the brand, Charly Boy, have catapulted him back to grace.
Most people have ascribed Charly Boy’s recent incessant trips to Europe and the US to be part of the preparation towards the shooting of the movie; but in a telephone interview the Area Fada, spoke only on the importance of the venture and why he accepted to sign the deal.
“I believe I have a story to tell.  The story of my life is like the story of an average Nigerian child trying to find a place in the system. The doggedness, tenacity and tremendous focus that formed part of my life through the different phases will be something big and huge for the Nigerian youth as lessons. I want to evoke the zeal in them and challenge the confidence in them,” he said.
Entervganza learnt that the biopic, which would be a trilogy, would tell the story of the enigmatic social crusader in exactitude. Moreover, the very sensitive sides of the story that is expected to capture Charly Boy as a child, his youth, academic years in the country and in the US as well as the emergence of the brand, will be comically presented.
Banwo who opened up during one of his research missions to the Punk Palace in Abuja disclosed that the movie would take Nollywood to a different level added that cast would not be limited to Nollywood’s famous faces but would also feature some international stars.
