While cheers and jeers have not stopped trailing the just concluded Ayo Animashaun’s Smooth Promotions’ yearly awards tagged ‘The Headies’, it will take Olukolade Ajayi a.k.a RonKay, the CEO of upwardly mobile Culbeed Music, sometime to forgive Hip on TV boss, Ayo Animashaun.
We reliably gathered that Ron Kay, who will rather allow his achievements in the entertainment scene speak for him rather than wearing them like medals, is very bitter about the way he was been treated by Ayo.
SS scooped that Culbeed Music boss, who produced Zdon’s debut album and behind the emergence of the fast rising singer, Orezi, went to Ayo Animashaun’s office on Ogundana Street, off Allen Avenue, Lagos, to collect passes for the artistes on his record label to attend the award ceremony.
The chubby cheeked banker turned music promoter was learnt to have initially disappointed when one of Ayo’s aides told him that name of Orezi, one of his artistes, was not on the list. It was like salt upon an injury as he tends to rectify the mistake on the list. Ronkay, who sits on top of multimillion naira musical studio located in Ogba, met the shock of his life when Ayo ordered him out of his office like a beggar on the street!
We were hinted that passes were later released for Ron Kay’s artiste but he was learnt to have been very bitter and disappointed with the humiliation melted on him by Ayo. While Ronkay has refused to comment on the issue, all effort to get Ayo’s reaction proves abortive; as his Airtel’s telephone number kept ringing but no response.
While some people have put up a defence that probably Ayo Animashaun was under pressure or lost the face of an old colleague in showbiz, many believed that Ayo shouldn’t have acted in such manner irrespective of Ronkay’s status.
