NBC battles OGTV over online transmission

Bolarinwa (DG NBC)
While the Ogun State Government owned television station, OGTV, has widened its coverage with its transmission on the web, SS has learnt that the development has sparked off a cold war between its Ayinde Sooaga-led management and the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC).
The face-off is not unconnected with the Commission’s disapproval of unilateral commencement of the streaming of OGTV’s signal on the web without its approval, the directive which SS learnt fell on the deaf ears of the Abeokuta based TV station.

According to a bird in the know, OGTV is said to have informed NBC of its commencement of online transmission, but things took a new turn when the latter officially informed the former to cease streaming on the web and apply to the regulatory body for the required approval.
Interestingly, as many are wondering which offence was committed by OGTV to have warranted the NBC to stop its online transmission, critics now query the existence of unknown TV stations that are streaming online.
